This is Adobe Illustrator CS5 for Mac OS X!! I decided to upload this because when doing a search for it I couldn't find it. I got Illustrator DMG from Adobe's website and the install instructions are the same as 76dragon's instructions, as they worked very well for me. Included in this torrent is Illustrator_15_LS1.dmg and install instructions, including activator keys. These instructions are not mine, they are 76dragon's (TPB) and I take no credit for them in any way. They are being used because they worked for me without any incident or hiccup!!! Part 1: REMOVE OLD ADOBE INSTALLATIONS (IF APPLICABLE) BEFORE INSTALLING ADOBE CS5 Remove the following Adobe applications and files before installing the Adobe CS5 Master Collection: /Applications/Adobe? (everything with Adobe) /Library/Application Support/Adobe /Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher /Library/Preferences/com.adobe... (everything with com.adobe) ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat ~/Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe... (everything with Adobe) ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe... (everything with com.adobe) Part 2: INSTALLATION OF ADOBE Illustrator CS5 (Or any other CS5 pruduct) Disconnect from network/internet (Turn AirPort Off). Double click "Adobe CS5 Master Collection.dmg" to install the Adobe CS5 Master Collection. Whilst installing CS5, ensure that you choose "Install this product as a trial" and DO NOT enter any serials. If you've already installed CS5 applications using a serial, load any of the installed CS5 applications and select Help > Deactivate. Quit all of the installed CS5 applications. TERMINAL Launch a Terminal window (in /Applications/Utilities) and copy and paste: sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts Hit return and type your admin password. The "hosts" file should automatically open in TextEdit. TEXTEDIT If the following lines are already part of the "hosts" file close it and continue with the "Finish" section. If not hit return (in the opened "hosts" file) and copy and paste following lines: 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 practivate.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 ereg.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 activate.wip3.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 wip3.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 3dns-3.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 3dns-2.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 adobe-dns.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-2.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 adobe-dns-3.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 ereg.wip3.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 activate-sea.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 wwis-dubc1-vip60.adobe.com 127.0.0.1 activate-sjc0.adobe.com Save the "hosts" file, DO NOT Save As?. Part 3: FINALIZE ADOBE CS5 INSTALLATION In Terminal copy and paste: sudo dscacheutil -flushcache Hit return (and type your admin password if asked for it). The Adobe activation servers are now blocked. FINISH ADOBE CS5 INSTALLATION Launch any of the installed CS5 applications and enter one of the following serials: 1325-0617-8365-2331-6662-9349 1325-0621-9125-0765-3648-0614 1325-0365-5929-6118-8817-8422 1325-0150-1163-7532-1626-3430 1325-0178-1927-9019-0123-2254 1325-0702-3693-1544-9166-3515 1325-0549-2240-0071-3409-1342 Connect back to network/internet (Turn AirPort On). You can start using CS5 applications. Run any CS5 application > Help > Updates? multiple times until all installed Adobe CS5 applications are up to date.

/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher
A few notes additional notes to part 1 of the post:
- / is the system root folder (which you can find in Finder by clicking on the hard drive icon at devices)

- You don't have to remove old installations. However, I strongly recommend to at least delete the "/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher" and "/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher" folders and re-enter the relevant serial upon opening an Adobe application. By keeping your old FLEXnet Publisher folders you may run into licensing errors.
- Obviously, if you're attached to your old Adobe application preferences, don't delete the preferences files in the system and User libraries. There is no harm in doing so, they'll be automatically regenerated but by deleting them you will loose your user preferences. I prefer to start with a clean system but that may not be the case for everybody.

@76dragon i have just installed photoshop cs5 and now i want to install illustrator... do i have to still delete all those adobe files be4 installing illustrator, and what will that do with my photoshop?

@jlie69: you are doing exactly what i did...all you have to do is disconnect from the internet, install Illustrator CS5 (as trial) and quit it if it opens after installation...it should work if you have already done all of the instructions to install photoshop CS5

Just to verify, when removing old Adobe files, does this include programs unrelated to Illustrator itself? I have a cracked PSE 8 and I'm curious if this is still a necessary removal step before the Illustrator installation. Thanks

that depends...did the crack work just as this workaround did or not...if not then probably do a complete uninstall of PSE 8 and install this, then just reinstall your cracked PSE 8 and you shouldnt have any problems...good luck and leave a comment about how it goes

Okay, I'm really new to downloading torrents. When it finished downloading I just have the .rar file. How do I acquire the dmg file? I don't see it after downloading.
Downloaded it and followed the steps and it worked perfectly. The step to stop communication between the servers may be unnecessary, but I still did it.
GreySkiesBlack- After you download the torrent and have the .rar file you want to use a .rar/.zip extractor to pull the files out of it (I treat .rar and .zip files with the application called 'Zipeg'). After that you just follow the steps and you should be good to go.

I installed, as per instructions and then when i launched the terminal window and pasted "sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts", pressed return it just went to the next line and never gave me an opportunity to enter my password! please help!

When I download this file, it shows up in Vuze as a .rar file. And your instructions say nothing about a .rar file. What do I do?
I was just curious if I'll need to uninstall Photoshop. I have a CS4 version that I torrented. It was a hassle to find a working torrent and I'm not really looking to uninstall it and 1) find out that I can't get this torrent working, or 2) not be able to find the Photoshop torrent again.
In the instructions it talks about Adobe CS5 Package, not Illustrator CS5. Should I be using a CS5 Package .dmg or does it just mean Illustrator. If I should be using this package .dmg does that include a bundle of Adobe CS5 programs (including Photoshop) or am I just misunderstanding it.

for news, yes it includes all what you have in cs5 suite, and yes you have to unrar it
and connect yourself back when you have to deactivate in the help section

None of serials worked for me.
Is it important to you use whatever older version of Illustrator is included in this torrent instead of d/l'ing the newest version of Adobe? I was able to install Photoshop CS5 recently this way with no problem. I saw the notes above about removing "FLEXnet Publisher" but this is no where to be found on my computer.

I downloaded a copy of Photoshop and did the crack. Will that crack work with this, do I have to completely remove the things from the Terminal that I put in for PS5 or what? Just wondering before downloading. Kinda need both PS and Illustrator. Thanks for any help anyone can give.
Is it safe to download the updates from Adobe Applications Manager? Just checking, so I don't accidentally fuck up everything :p
Also, Adobe Applications Manager starts up by itself every time I start the computer. Really annoying, and there's nothing in the startup items. Anything to do about it?

A question regarding part 2: How do you uninstall the CS5 applications if you have already installed it with a serial key? i'm not quite sure what "help >" means - especially the 'gt' - what is that? Any help wld be greatly appreciated! :)

Works on Lion. However, the instructions for the Terminal are not the same. This is what I did, so I thought I'd share it with you guys. =)
Terminal
Type this into the terminal in order to access your host files if you're using Lion:
sudo nano /private/etc/hosts
to save you need to press Ctrl X, and then Y for yes and lastly press the enter key.
In part 3, to flush the cache in the terminal. I typed in:
sudo killall -INFO mDNSResponder
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder
